I just checked the web sites of all of the major news networks and found something predictable. All of the sites (ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, FOX) have a story or headline about the Ann Coulter Slur regarding John Edwards. However, only FOX has a headline about Bill Maher's despicable remarks about Cheney. Why is that? Is it worse to use a gay slur like "Faggot" than it is to wish that someone were killed?
Well, it is not, they are both bad but it once again illustrates the inept biased media not doing its job.
I guess when you have nothing worth hearing it is tough to sell ads, which means it is tough to make money.
Air America Radio, a liberal talk and news radio network, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, a network official told the AP.
The network had denied rumors just a month ago that it would file for bankruptcy, but on Friday Air America said negotiations with a creditor from the company's early days had broken down.
The network will stay on the air while it resolves issues with its creditors, spokeswoman Jaime Horn told the Associated Press. A formal announcement was expected to be made later Friday.
Remember, they even had some shady loans that the media could not bring themselves to really report on.
A co-founder of Air America Radio reportedly loaned the network and himself more than $800,000 from a non-profit charity in New York while serving as its development director.
Evan Cohen made the highly questionable loans while a director of the Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club, which serves 20,000 children, elderly residents, and people with disabilities. Some loans were directed to Air America as the fledgling liberal talk radio network was launched in March 2004; others went personally to Cohen, who claimed "he needed the money to pay for chemotherapy for himself and other medical expenses for his ill father," according to the New York Sun.
Can you imigine the stories and the attention this would get if it were a conservitive venture?
Good news is bad news for the Democrats who are trying to take back control of Congress. The "mainstream" media is pretty upset about this news as well.
Oops. Back in 2004, then-ABC White House correspondent Terry Moran argued President Bush’s tax cuts were building debt, not prosperity: “Most experts say that making those tax cuts permanent would cause gigantic deficits virtually as far as the eye can see.” Early last year, CBS’s Bob Schieffer suggested it would be impossible for the federal budget deficit to be cut in half before 2009 without raising taxes: “The government has just got to find some money to finance these programs.”
Well, the tax cuts haven’t been repealed, and there have been no big new tax increases. But yesterday the White House announced that final tallies for the federal government’s fiscal year ending September 30, 2006, the budget deficit had shrunk from $413 billion two years ago to $248 billion. The federal government collected $2.407 trillion in taxes in FY2006, $122 billion more than originally forecast back in February.
What a concept, let Americans keep their hard earned money and let them spend it instead of letting the governemnt take it and waste it.
